Perspective Design Shovel

The Perspective Design Shovel (PD Shovel) is a new form of Ergonomic shovel.

Featuring specially placed handles it makes it easier to move materials easier and with less back pain as it works in conjunction with the human body.

The shovel head is so much larger compared to a normal shovel that we call it the bucket. This is possible because the ergonomic design allows you to move more material at once.

The shovel was built by Lawrence and his father, Lew, whose grandmother died of a heart attack while shoveling snow.

They knew there must be a better way and being inventors, discovered a new, patented technology.

The PD Shovel is very different from normal snow shovels.

It's 3 main features are Ergonomics, Maintenance and Replaceable parts

Ergonomics

It's designed with a handle in the bucket right where the center of gravity is, this makes it much easier to lift the contents with one hand whilst using the other on the hand grip to help stabilise it. The effect is that you can easily pickup the snow and using a swinging motion with your arms, throwing the snow away. No more twisting your back, just swing your arms!

It uses high quality plastic to ensure it's lightweight. The shovel when empty shouldn't hurt your arms.

The hand grip at the end is wide to make it easy to push even with your body. It won't dig into you. It's also plastic so your hands don't get too cold. Other models usually have small metal hand grips that are cold, or wrapped in rubber and very heavy.

The bucket is large and deep. It's able to carry a lot of snow, unlike normal fly swatter style snow shovels.

Maintenance

It's made of high quality, injection moulded plastic and a long aluminium shaft. The parts don't get rusty and whilst you'll likely want to wash or wipe them down quickly after using them if you shoveled dirty snow, you don't have to. You don't have to oil it, tighten the screws, keep it dry, or anything else. It should last for a very long time.

Replaceable Parts

The PD Shovel is built to be assembled / disassembled. This is very different from other snow shovels. If you drive over the shovel head, or the hand grip and break just that, you can easily order a replacement part.

If you are a professional who's using the shovel for hours a day then eventually the Aluminum Front Guard will wear out and you can get a replacement.

Lots the pins? We give you a spare already.

We use plastic pins instead of screws as they generally last longer and are easier to replace.

The general assembly and disassembly is very quick and easy. No tools required.

Whilst is can be great for anything you'd want to load into a wheelbarrow, the shovel is optimised for shoveling snow.

If we get enough interest, we'll create a different variant that's better for sand, grain, soil, water or other uses.

Here's just some of the things you can use it for:

  1. Snow - It was originally designed as a snow shovel and that's why you can install the metal blade, to help scrape the snow and ice off the ground.
  2. Sand - Are you trying to make a sand castle on the beach? You'll be able to win competitions with this.
  3. Grain - Are you a farmer trying to move grain or other types of food that have to be moved by hand? The plastic bucket will move more than your usual shovel. It will also clean well and should cause less contamination.
  4. Soil and Dirt - Are you landscape gardening? Then you'll want a PD Shovel. You will still want a metal spade to dig into the ground, but you can use our shovel to help load it into a Wheelbarrow.
  5. Water - Did your house, boat or ship flood and you need to get the water out? You should get a water pump, but if you've got one then the PD Shovel can help.
  6. Leaves - Trying to clean up around the garden? The big bucket of the PD Shovel will help pickup more per session. Meaning you don't have to do as many trips to the compost bin.
